Computing the Ricci and Einstein Tensors
Volume 1, Issue 2
Fall 1990
Juan M. Aguirregabiria, Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea, Spain
Two related packages, Ricci and Tetrad, can be used to
compute the basic geometrical quantities appearing in the field equations
of general relativity. The first is meant for use with coordinate basis,
while the second uses orthonormal frames. The difficulties associated with
the very complex expressions that usually appear in such computations may
be circumvented by possible extensions to Mathematica.
