Transient Two-Wave Mixing in Kerr Media

We consider the problem of two pulsed laser beams interacting with each other as they propagate together through certain nonlinear materials known collectively as Kerr media. We look at how energy is transferred from one beam to another, using the graphical and numerical features of Mathematica as a complement to calculations done on a mainframe computer.
