Here we present a collection of interactive numerical exercises on matrix algebra and introduce Exercise Maker, a graphical user interface for them. Exercise Maker uses MathLink to carry out all the computations involved in setting up the questions and checking the answers. An interesting approach to the authoring of exercises is adopted, in which each exercise is presented as a collection of objects. Exercise Maker maintains visual representations of the objects defined as lists in a Mathematica program. Students interact with the visual representations in order to answer the questions.
