A Study of Super-Nonlinear Motion of a Simple Pendulum

Two identically charged simple pendulums are allowed to swing in a vertical plane, acted upon by gravity and their mutual electrostatic interactive repulsive forces. We show that the inclusion of the electrostatic interaction makes the movement of the pendulums highly nonlinear.
